Tourism
Large apartment blocks and grayish landscapes, the result of decades of communist rule, are already a thing of the past. Its pulsating artery is the capital of Prague. One of the most beautiful cities in the world (for the locals, the most beautiful), Prague has already entered the must-see route for experienced tourists on the Rome-London-Paris circuit. Attractions abound to fill a week of sightseeing, and the opportunity to miss the full details of Prague Castle, the dozens of Gothic-contoured churches or the (sometimes) impassable Charles Bridge is enormous. The important thing is to recognize that Prague alone does not make the country famous.

Take a few days to get to know the castle and the wooden houses from the fairy tale in Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Or take a train to Plzen, where the famous lager beer was invented in 1842. By the way, you'll understand well the role of the Czechs in this story by seeing names such as Bohemia (Bohemia), Budweis (Cesky Budejovice) and Plzen (Pilsen) on the map. If you have time, visit Bohemian Switzerland National Park, considered one of the most beautiful and preserved in Europe.

Another thing that can not miss in your script is the country music. Cradle of Dvorak and Smetana, here there are always good concerts available, many at very interesting prices. Perhaps nothing summarizes this spirit better than the national anthem itself.
Gastronomy
Traditional Czech cuisine has mutual relations with south-eastern German cuisine as well as Austrian cuisine. Bohemian cuisine (one of the main regions of the Czech Republic) benefits from a microclimate that affects all the ingredients of Czech dishes. The natural culinary elements of this kitchen are the fruits of the field, the vegetables, the fruits of the forest, the arrows, the fish and the meat. Cultivated fields provide a wide variety of delicious products that enrich the dishes and specialties of this country.

Czech cuisine is rich and varied. As far as meat is concerned, chicken, goose, duck and other animals are very common, appearing with some success in the Czech menus. Fish is considered a culinary rarity, with the exception of trout and carp.
Weather
The Czech Republic has a temperate continental climate, with relatively hot summers and cold, cloudy and snowy winters. The annual thermal range is relatively high due to the geographical position of a landlocked, landlocked country.

The coldest months are usually January, February and December. During these months, there is usually snow in the mountains and in large cities and plains. In spring the temperature tends to rise rapidly, although it can vary greatly during the day, especially in April. Spring is also characterized by large river flows due to melting, causing occasional flooding.

The hottest months of the year are July, August and June. Summer temperatures average around 25 ° C and can reach maximums of 30 ° C. Summer is also characterized by rainfall and frequent storms.

In autumn, September is still relatively hot and dry, in October average temperatures are between 10 ° C and 15 ° C, and by the end of November temperatures start to be around zero degrees.
Safety
Security conditions are generally satisfactory. However, as far as Prague is concerned, and being a city with a large number of tourists throughout the year, there are relatively frequent small thefts perpetrated by pickpockets, especially in the most crowded places (Prague Castle, Charles Bridge). , St. Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square or the Clock), as well as public transport (tram and metro). Visitors are advised to be particularly careful about the possibility of theft / pickpockets on tram lines 22 and 23 serving the Prague Castle tourist area.

It is also warned that if the traveler enters the country with his own car, as foreign-registered cars may be more susceptible to theft (it is suggested that no valuables or objects be left in the car and whenever possible parked in guarded parks or garages).
Health
The healthcare system in the Czech Republic includes a hospital network that generally covers needs in this area, with relatively good quality hospital services and clinics.

The largest hospital units usually have an information and care department for foreigners. Any care provided by the public health service is charged a moderating fee.

The visitor is advised to have health insurance coverage, or with minimal care coverage through the European Health Insurance Card (CESD), or through any other broader private insurance that covers not only the costs. medical treatment, hospitalization and medicines, but also possible health repatriation to their country of origin.
Telecommunications and Electricity
There are three national mobile phone operators (O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone), with coverage throughout the Czech Republic, allowing smooth internal and roaming connections.

Internet
Internet use is widespread. Most of the shopping, tourist areas, as well as cafes and restaurants, usually have wi-fi points with internet access.
