In 1926 werd de eerste steen van de huidige kapel gelegd, en deze heeft sindsdien gefungeerd als een plaats van herinnering en gebed voor de veroordeelde gemeenschap van de vrouwengevangenis die er dichtbij was.
Hoogtepunten zijn onder meer een geschilderde kopie van La Piedad, prachtige standbeelden van Franse engelen en glas in lood, en tenslotte de kruisvormige interieurarchitectuur, speciaal ontworpen om de gevangenen aan het begin van de vorige eeuw te dienen.
