Wenteche, en langue mapuche, signifie des gens du centre. Une définition qui convient très bien à ce collectif artistique, qui s'est fortement implanté dans la ville, se démarquant dans le circuit des espaces indépendants, par son dévouement complet et absolu à l'art.
Bien qu'immergée dans un parcours où les manifestations artistiques abondent, Sala Wenteche brille de sa propre lumière, la force de sa proposition est évidente dès l'entrée de la salle où l'on peut voir une imposante fresque en plein air de l'artiste Patricio Peña Oltra.
