This museum was created in 1943 to mark the centennial of the University of Chile, several American governments sent samples of popular handicrafts characteristic of their countries. The collections include ceramics, basketwork, textiles, musical instruments, riding instruments, religious images, instinctive painting, leatherwork, carving and bone, among others.
The American Folk Museum of Art has collections from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Chile.
Your hours are from Monday to Friday 10.00, 12.00, 14.30 and 16.00 hours. For guided tours in the museum must be requested prior to the phone (56-2) 6822208 visits.
