Set in the western part of Madeira, this brand new accommodation was built on the grounds of an old sugar cane factory. The Estalagem Engenho Velho features scenic sea views, fruit orchards and an outdoor swimming pool.
All the air-conditioned rooms at the Engenho Velho feature a private bathroom, seating area with a sofa, satellite TV and a scenic balcony with a hammock, overlooking the ocean.
The elegant dining room has a wide terrace on the outside with a window view from the inside. The restaurant’s specialties include tuna, octopus and other seafood delicacies. An à la carte breakfast is included and can be enjoyed in the room while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Guests can relax in the pool area and its loungers after a refreshing swim. The surrounding green areas are also ideal for hiking or sightseeing. The Engenho Velho uses plenty of homegrown products and has a selection of wines, including a homemade white wine and the house brandy. The extensive grounds include varied fruit orchards and vegetable and herb gardens.
The Madeira Airport is a 39-minute drive from the unit.
